Thread: LVBDI Calling all Volunteers!

The volunteer submission form is up and ready at Volunteer at the Las Vegas Bellydance Intensive: Belly Dance Classes, Workshops, Lessons, Party, and more!

We have many different volunteer positions open, so if you're planning on attending (and are not a full package holder) and would like to see what may be available, please click the link above. The list is set up so that the title/date/time of the position is shown and you can click on the "more info" to find out exactly what the position entails and what the compensation for that position is. The list is also laid out so that the general position is first, followed by the personal assistants to the headliners, then it goes by day for the others that are based on time frames.

Just bumping this up. We still have plenty of open positions but both the check-in and teacher assistant positions for Sadie's workshops have been filled.

Just had someone swap positions this morning so the Class Check in for Sadie's Thursday class is now available. I'll post back here when it's closed.

7/9- Aannnd it's closed again.

The time is ticking away but we still have openings for Volunteers! As you may have seen Samira post, Sadie's Friday drum solo class is sold out. What that means for volunteers is that unless you're handling the check-in or the teacher assistant position for that class time, you can't use a voucher to get in.

However, we still have an opening for a Personal Assistant for Sadie which will allow you to attend both of her classes and receive two additional vouchers for other classes and/or shows. How awesome is that? The only catch is that you need to be available for the entire intensive and have your own transportation. You also can't volunteer for any other positions or be a full package holder.

Not interested in being Sadie's PA? We still have openings for Personal Assistants for eight of our nine headliners. The same conditions applies for these as well:

Time's counting down and we're only four weeks away from the Intensive!

We still have positions open for workshops, shows, tables, and helping at the festival. We also still need people for Personal Assistants for some of the head liners. Normally we require people to be available for the entire Intensive to be a PA but to help fill these prime positions, I'm going to ease up and only require that people be available for the time that the head liner is there. I'll also allow people to pick up other positions if they are during days that their headliner is not at the Intensive.

Volunteer Meeting!

It's the final few weeks to the event and we're having a volunteer meeting to answer any questions and fill those last few slots! This meeting is not mandatory for volunteers but it will be very helpful, especially to first timers. You can check out the Facebook Event Page or I have the information for you below:

If you're thinking about volunteering better take a look quick, we only have two weeks to the Intensive!

The Volunteer Registration Page is still available and we still have many positions left! That may very well change after our volunteer meeting on Sunday since I'm opening the positions up to everyone who has already volunteered.

Remember, volunteering is a great way to save some cash and get workshops and shows for only the price or your time!

Caesar's entertainment is currently in the midst of building a new shopping and entertainment venue on the North side of the Flamingo Hotel, called Project Linq (Project Linq Las Vegas - Linq Las Vegas - Project Linq). As part of this construction, O'Shea's has been closed along with the North Parking structure that served both O'Shea's and the Flamingo. What this means is that the only parking directly available for the Flamingo Hotel and Casino is either by Valet or in the South Parking structure. If you are staying at the Flamingo Hotel, you should have no issues getting into the structure if it is not full. However, anyone who is not staying at the hotel will need to let the attendant know that you are attending a conference to be able to park there. Unfortunately, there is just not going to be enough parking in that structure for both hotel guests and conference attendees especially on Friday and Saturday.

There are several other places that you can park and then walk to the Flamingo. Bill's Gambling Hall & Saloon is right next to the Flamingo Hotel. Bally's is on the South side of Flamingo Road and directly across the street from the Flamingo Hotel. You may also park at the Imperial Palace on the North side of the Flamingo, or even Harrah's just north of Imperial Palace. Another option, but quite a long haul, is parking at Caesar's Palace across the street to the west. Remember that parking structures are in the back of the casinos so you will need to park, walk through whatever casino you have parked at, and then walk to the Flamingo. You will want to make sure that you give yourself at least an additional half-hour to forty-five minutes minimum for parking and walking to the Flamingo in addition to the time to walk through the Flamingo to the conference area on the third floor. It would be best to get there as early as possible as well.If you park at Imperial Palace or Paris, you also have the option of taking the monorail. Just a reminder that our online volunteer registration will end Tuesday morning!

Don't worry if you can't do online, we'll be accepting volunteers right at the Intensive. Come on over to the Volunteer check-in table and we'll see what we can find for you!

Please remember that if you have already purchased workshops or show, we don't do reimbursements instead of issuing vouchers for use.
