Thread: Nile Group Festival April 2008

Who is going besides Maria Aya (and her 20+ group of crazy greeks) and Mark Balahadia??

I will be in Cairo for 2 weeks at the beginning of April and I will be at the first 3 days of the festival.

I want to go badly since I've not been befor. Unfortunatley, I just got back from vacation in Hawaii last month. So no more traveling for me for awhile. I guess I'll live vicariously through the videos. Ahhhh, the life of poor poor Michelle.

I want to go so badly, but I booked workshops every weekend in April, so there is no way I can make it, I have to remember next year, no workshops in April!!!!!!!!

I'll be going in June!!!!! Please report back with a review of the festival, I would love to hear what you think.

I am hoping Maria and other bhuzzers will be at the June one as well. (Maybe you'll like it so much you'll have to come back in June?!)

LOL, no way would you get me back to Cairo in June! For one thing, it is too hot (just like Texas and I don't want to go to Texas in the summer . . . oh, wait, I already live here, lol). I did go to AWS in 2004 so I have experienced the June-July heat . . . it is OK if you don't do too much outside during the day. The nights get cooler and it feels wonderful . . . especially when staying at the Mena House out by the Pyramids (worth it to stay there at least once just for that . . . Pyramids in the morning, Pyramids in the evening, lol).

And as much as I would like to be able to go 3-4 times a year, my pocketbook says "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"! I wanted to go in November really . . . but this year, it worked out for me to go in April . . . seems like Feb-Mar are my favorite months though.

Maria Aya is ALWAYS there, hehe, she travels with that bunch of crazy greeks!! So I am sure you will meet up with some other bhuzzers. And Outi will be around, I bet!

Yep I'll be there !!! and another 20 crazy greeks also.
I'll take the minimum of workshops (1 per day) and be the nights around, meantime i'm working on a documentary on Greeks of Egypt for a greek channel, so dont look for me in day time lol
But i'm a night party animal lol so meet you in nights or early workshops.

I'll be there at the Nile Group in April in a group of 10. We're all students of Khaled (poor man!) and we are sooooooo looking forward to it. I've limited myself to just one workshop per day (and was it hard to choose from so many!!) as I want to explore Cairo more than I have before. We're all leaving Cairo after the festival and flying down to Luxor to pick up a boat to cruise on the nile for a few days taking in the Valley of the Kings etc etc. which should be fantastic.

You think you're the loud ones............................. you haven't met my crazy lot yet???!!!

We always keep an eye on Khaled to stop any kidnapping attempts and are fiecely protective (you have been warned ha! ha!), but we don't mind sharing him (if we really have too). We do realise just how lucky we are though.

Will definitely look out for you at the Opening Gala (oooohhh! I'm getting soooooo excited now).
