Thread: Stockholm Belly Dance Festival 2008

They have announced a list of more than 40 teachers and the schedule is amazing as well as the list of performers at the three shows. I feel they have invited all the Nile Group teachers to Sweden this year. I have a difficult choice to make which workshops to pick since they list Mahmoud Reda, Lubna Emam, Tito, Asmahan, Khaled Mahmoud, Aida Nour, Kazafy, Liza Laziza... and many others.

Anyone else coming this year? If not - you should!!!! I just love this event,and the dates this year are earlier than usual, it is going to be
1-4th May.

I'm coming too! Posting here even though you don't know me (I don't post much). I'm having trouble deciding workshops as well. So much good stuff! It's my first visit to SBDF even though I'm swedish and used to live in Stockholm, so I'm VERY excited. Especially at getting a chance to be taught by so many egyptians. Wow! I want to take classes with at least Aida Nour, Tito and Lubna Emam. Any other recommendations?

so far I count ten finnish dancers (at least) to go this year, and I also got an email from an Slovenian dancer who is about to join us this time. Anyone staying on the boat (loginn or the other) this year? - I might pay for drinks one night to meet you all! i know everybody is busy because of the workshopping and shopping and performing, but maybe.... let me know!

Finally I can confirm I´m going. (I had to charm my teacher to let me take a final exam one day before everybody else)

I´m really looking forward seing all of you!!!!

All of these teachers are brilliant, I have done workshops with Lubna, she is very down to earth and friendly, Aida nour is class, she expects you to work hard, and be a least a grade 3 dancer. Khaled is my teacher and does a good workshop he has a lovely personality and makes the workshop fun as well as hard work. Asmahan is beautiful, an excellant dancer, not really a teacher but she knows a lot, her stagecraft workshop was very informative, if you dance professionally. Kazafy im doing his workshop on 29th March at the Egyptian moonlight show workshop at Littlehampton, Ill let you all know what its like. Im also doing Asmahan muscle technique, and Lubna saidi stick. Im comming to stockholm in June 19th untill 24th so Ill miss all the fun with you guys, anything bellydance going on that weekend its midsummers day 21st.

Hey Heinakuu Im staying at Loginn with 8 other Icelandic girls! There will be 13 of us this year, but some are staying in other places..

Can anyone suggest a good places to stay near the main venue? how many euros per night is it?

These are the ones I have tried and the only ones that are near by, as far as I know. I put the cheapest first and the most expensive last....

The boats might be booked up, but worth the try.....
The hotels are probably not booked up though, they are not as close, but still not far away (aprox.15 min. walk)......

ok - at the loginn boat - at 6 pm on 30th, april (one night before the festival)
I invite Katja, Soheir, Gisela, Iceland, Fayzah...and other bhuzzers that will be there at that moment to join me at the Loginn bar. I do not definitely know your face but if you just come and give me a hint, the drink will be yours...but not too much because we will have to full festival ahead us. all the finnish ladies are invited, too, but they I think will arrive by boat which means they are there in the morning of the 1st.

I just love how many new people i get to know in sbdf!!! So many new great friends

Heinäkuu, I work until 18.30, and I think I´m expected at home to celebrate Vappu, so I´m sorry for not being able to make it on wednesday. I will however be at the festival the next day. Hoping to meet you there!

Stockholm belly dance festival is great, probably the best one in scandinavia i was last year in stockholm and it was so special dancing holiday for me, am coming soon again , the shows are wonderful and long as it should be, the audiance is in complete trans all the time, the courses are severals and the teachers are the best once unless some of them get ungry easyly..l;,
well the festival stuff is very friendly, they can't stop smiling, i like the festival very very very much. love it love love it..g.:

Ahleen habibi i miss u so much, how r u?? well am just surfing at the SBDF and i found your message, great to hear from u!! am going to stockholm again but only for a trip and for the shows, i can't participate to any course cause my legs are so tired nowedays, or may be it is simply am getting older but i am still big and beautiful ha ha ha ..c:: ..l;, . well i am still dancing whenever i have the chance to do so. Heinäkuu, were you at Asmahans Oum Kalthoum workshop? Lots of Finns there..l;, I´m going on the saturday show and Lubnas workshop on sunday, If someone recognizes me, come up and say hi
