Thread: Post-Fifi Dance Party at Al Amir

Hi Everyone!

Several of you have expressed interest in coming to Al Amir while you're in Dallas, and I've got the ok from my boss to put together a hafla that Sunday night, May 20.

So if you're going to be in town and want to come to Al Amir for dinner and maybe even strut your stuff, email me at tamrahenna @ yahoo dot com.

Here's the details:

IF YOU WANT TO DANCE: Time limit 8-10 minutes, soloists or troupes welcome. This is a Lebanese restaurant, try to stay within the realm of the traditional, although you can do oriental, folklore, pop, or even a prop piece if you like. We have room for about 6-10 dance slots, depending on the level of interest. We have dressing areas upstairs, so you can change at the restaurant. Music on CD, doesn't even have to be on the same CD for you procrastinators (we have a DJ).

IF YOU JUST WANT TO COME WATCH, EAT, MINGLE, AND BOOGIE: Please let me know you're interested and you can call 214-739-2647 for reservations (not a bad idea so they know how many of us are coming and can plan for extra staff if necessary).

I'd like to start the dance show at 8 or 8:30, depending on the number of people we have signed up to dance - I will do my set after she show at around 9:30, and by ten we can be boogie-ing the night away or we can all go home and go to bed LOL ,s::

She's in! Whee, I'm so excited! This is the first event I've organized at AA - I'm almost as excited about this as I am about seeing Fifi!

I wish I could come, but I'm driving down with a group & we'll be leaving right after the workshop on Sunday. Y'all are going to have so much fun!

Yay! I'll do it! I am hoping to be back from the airport in time! ;-) I think my friends flights leave in the afternoon!

I might be able to drop by early in the evening, but I have made arrangements to take someone to the airport around 8:30pm . . . soooooooooooo, I don't think allows much time for anything other than some meet and greet!! ,f:: Oh, well, by that time I will probably need some sleep anyway to get prepared for another week of commuting (although I have my fingers crossed that I get to work from home that week if the project team isn't traveling into the DFW area).

What's the address for al-Amir? Damiena and I are staying over Sunday night, so we could catch a cab over from the hotel! Yay! ..g.:

That would be fantastic! The address is 7402 Greenville Ave., Dallas 75231. 214-739-2647 - if you are planning to come, call to make reservations so they can plan enough staff.

I, too, am leaving Sunday (early). there was talk of maybe dinner Friday night before the show. same place? different place?

I'm dancing Friday night at 8:30 - but I think that's after the show starts.

phooey. zone bar in the hotel it is (unless they have a good place to eat!!).

LOL, no sequins necessary unless you're onstage. I'd say dressy casual to casual dressy - clear as mud, huh?
