the merchant's carts and taste authentic cuisine Enjoy a show that tales the story
of Sheherezade's ultimate sacrifice

MILTON — A modern day interpretation of a timeless story comes to life on the
Milton Theatre stage on March 15 at 6:30 p.m. A variety of Middle Eastern dance
performers tell the story of Sheherazade, a woman who made the ultimate sacrifice
by volunteering to be the sultan's next wife and victim.
Sheherezade may have only saved the kingdom's women for a night, but with her
tales of good and evil, truth and honor, love and loss, she survived "1001 Nights."


Nefertiti plays the part of Sheherazade and with her dance company, Damali, and
other great belly dance performers from Delaware, Philadelphia and Maryland, the
event is sure to please. The performance is great for all ages. Sheherazade's tale
begins long before the performance in her kingdom's market place as costume,
jewelry and authentic food vendors bring you into the world of belly dancing. There
are opportunities for those interested to participate in workshops where beginners to
advanced dancers can expand their knowledge and improve technique.

There is one particularly for beginners, but is a great refresher for any
intermediate or advanced dancer. In this workshop you'll learn a fun, flirty
choreography that is among the audiences' favorites. Take a step to Turkey
and get a crash course in a varying style of belly dance. It is great for all stages of
dancers. No dancer is complete without a knowledge of drum rhythms and zill
patterns. Become a stronger dancer during a Zill and Drum workshop.
The workshops culminate in the final session as legend Habiba, of Philadelphia,
teaches a Master Egyptian workshop.

Dancers of all levels and those who just want to dance the night away can stay
after the show closes for a dance party.

The doors to Sheherazade's kingdom open at 9 a.m. and won't close until midnight.

Tickets for the show costs $15 with each workshop costing $15. Habiba's Master
session costs $35. Hurry to buy your tickets now because if you want to participate
in all workshops, you can get the show tickets for basically free until Feb. 15! Enjoy
the entire day for $85.

I'll be in the turkish and Habiba. Then backstage. Hopefully we won't have any
wardrobe malfunctions, but I'll be prepared.
