Hello from the lost state of Louisiana
Hello all =)
I'm very new here and I'm looking forward to learning new things.
I started dancing last spring. I took a 6 week course (it was only once of week) and then I quit because of the price. Since then, I've been self taught, sort of lol. It's really difficult to find someone to actually teach here! I've been searching for places to go that actually have teachers worth it. One of the teachers I went to was what you guys would call a '6 week wonder' (I thought about it after reading one of the thread). She didn't see to know much X_X
I'm also in martial arts, which really benefited my dancing by making me focus and more flexible. I think they go hand in hand perfectly!
Well, I look forward to learning with you guys!

hi! i lived in baton rouge for a year and LOVE louisiana! welcome to bhuz!
regarding finding a quality teacher, have you tried searching the forums? if you don't want to publicly say what city you're in, you could just search and see what pops up. also, shira's website has a really thorough list of teachers all over the world.

Oh I hope you find some good teachers in your area! Of course there are always wonderful DVD's to fall back on, and workshops to travel to - we have some fabulous people here in the Phoenix area, and great teachers who wander through to do workshops, if you want to wander up this way. Anyway, best wishes from AZ to the land of Sookie Stackhouse!!!!

Re: Hello from the lost state of Louisiana
Thanks, now I don't feel so lonely LOL.
Well, I didn't really get to comb through the forums yet, so I have no idea if there are any teachers here.
I've looked for workshops, but all I see is the certification one in Houston X_X Houston is as far as I go mostly (yey for korean family!), but considering I'm able to travel for my martial art competitions, I could probably go as far as georgia, but not frequently.Last edited by tkd_panda; 03-05-2010 at 12:06 AM.
