Thread: Heeeey, everybody!

:) Hello! My name is Chelsea, joined Bhuz a while ago, but just started pokin' around in earnest yesterday or the day before.
I am from South Carolina, though I currently go to school in Savannah, GA (Sophomore Illustration major/Drawing minor at SCAD! Yay!).
I've been interested in bellydance for a few years (at least), though I just started learning last year, when my roommate began teaching me a few things. Annnd since then I've been goofing off, learning from DVDs and taking a handful of classes here and there.

And, TBH, I'm a Tribal girl through and through :) I do love me some sparklies, though (I looked through the "Show me your Bella costumes" thread, and ahhhmmmmmg, droolworthy, some of them.).
Ideally, I would love to learn ATS, and have most of the FCBD dvds to learn from, but as a tribe of one, that's....kinda missing the point of group improv :(

So. Uh. Basically.

(Also, any suggestions for DVDs/websites/whathaveyou that have things that would be good learning material (any style welcome), would be much appreciated and loved and :D)

We've been trying to put together a bellydance club, but issues with time have been keeping us from doing so :c We do try and go to the school gym and just boogy in the aerobics room, and bring along a friend or two with us/show a few things to the people that are interested.
We will get there eventually!

Hi Chelsea - nice to meet you. I study ATS up here in New Haven, CT. There might be a sister studio in the Savannah or South Carolina area. Yes, you do need those other folks to really do the improv right.

I did find a list of the sister studios, but I don't think any of them are very close to where you are:

Great to have you aboard. I'm a little new here as well. I will have to check out your art! I love art! I draw too! A while back I was taking online courses with AI for Media Arts and Animation, but affording the software for class got a little costly. So unfortunately, I had to drop.

Since then, I had to find a way to excersice my other talent. So I got into bellydancing again. I enjoy tribal style as well! FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!
