Hello from Raqsie
Hi Bhuzzers,
My name is Raqswell but y'all can call me Raqsie. Ranya Renée gave me this name and nickname after I started working for her, and it's a long story but the short version is we all know what "raqs" means, and the "ie" is to be cute.
Here is my bio cut and pasted off facebook since I'm feeling lazy :P
Trained in Egyptian and Tribal Fusion styles with a little bit of Flamenco, West African and Uzbeki folk thrown in, Raqsie has crafted her own funky, cheeky and theatrical style of dance. She has taught belly dance to children and adults in New York City and Hong Kong. Raqsie can be seen performing as a soloist, with her dance sista Sola and with the Brooklyn based troupe Unveiled Dance New York.
I live in North Jersey, recently moved back from Brooklyn so most of my belly dance contacts are in the city, and I would love to connect with more local people.
