Thread: Hello from Chicago

Hello everyone
My name is Myrnie and I have been dancing for 9 months now. I have discovered this beautiful way of expressing my feminity and sensuality and I am addicted. I was diagnosed with MS in 2007 and thought I would not be able to dance again...not so. I have been so blessed because I have never lost the use of my legs nor gone blind, a little off balance sometimes but belly dancing has helped me with that and has given my confidence level a BIG boost.
My goal is to know show other women with MS that they cand still MOVE by teaching them. I take classes and practice EVERY day! So happy to be apart of this wonderful community.

Hello from neighboring Rockford! As someone who was misdiagnosed with MS (currently being told it was myelitis) in 2003, I understand your fears. It was also the kick in the butt I needed to get my motorcycle license and learn to hold nothing back. Welcome to a wonderfully supportive belly dance community.

Do you have balance issues, specifically the turns, while dancing? If so how do combat them?
