Thread: Hi from RI!

Hi Ladies, its time to come out of lurking! I started reading a lot of posts on here when I started making a costume this past winter and now I'm hooked, especially since I am on the hunt for a "real" costume.

I started taking belly dance lessons over 4 years ago, and have been accumulating moves, music, a better understanding of other cultures, friends, and wonderful shiny-glittery-sparkly-shimmery-chiffony things ever since. I have danced with my classmates/troupe a lot and done a solo, but haven't really taken it beyond that yet, its just my awesome hobby.

In my spare time I am a biologist, new home owner, and bride-to-be. My new found appreciation for appliques, beads, fringe, crystals, and shiny-glittery-sparkly-shimmery-chiffony stuff is making it tough to pick a wedding dress, none of them have enough!

Welcome! I'm in Boston, but I married into an RI family, so I'm down there all the time.

I took my first belly dance classes in Providence, my favorite restaurant in the world is in Bristol, and I did my all-time favorite performance in East Providence.

Who are you studying with?

I have been in classes with Kanina in RI for 3/4ish years, and this summer I am taking one of Aurel's classes in MA, too. I'm in Southern RI, I wish I was a little closer to Boston, there is so much going on up there!

I know them! I only met Kanina once, but she really impressed me. Aurel is an old friend of mine; we used to be classmates when she was still in Boston. Give them a hug for me next time you see them.
