    Hello from Texas!

    My name is Karen, and I am very new to Belly Dancing. I have always had an interest to learn but have always been overweight and didn't think I could do it. I was at a Renaissance Festival, and there were some "fuller" belly dancers there. I decided I wouldn't let my weight hold me back. I have bought a couple of dvd's to get started and I am searching for an instuctor in San Antonio. I joined Bhuz to see what is out there and meet people in the Belly Dance world.:be:

    There are many fuller figured ladies in the belly dance world. It's far more accepting of different body types and sizes. I haven't been dancing that long either. I'm a short and curvy pear. Just enjoy yourself :D

    There are several teachers there, I researched when I thought we were going back, and several bhuzzers are San Antonians, plus, you can travel to Austin for shows and workshops, Welcome! We lived in NE out 78 in the 90's
