Hello, from Greenville Michigan
I'm new here and new to the world of belly dance. I'm a mom of three kids and have been looking for a way to stay physically active to stay in shape (and perhaps get into better shape) but all the things I've tried have been hard to stick with. I've heard of belly dance for fitness and thought belly dance sounded like fun, even if it wasn't meant to be a "work out", it is physical activity after all! My sister has a couple VHS tapes that I've borrowed from her to see if I like it. I had a blast! I feel like I have two left feet at times, but I'll learn. ..l;,
(Oddly enough, I found this site doing a Google search for Jasmine costuming. I am contemplating making myself a Princess Jasmine costume for Halloween, Aladdin for my hubby, and Abu for our 1-year old son. By the way, the lady who has that Jasmine belly dance costume, it's lovely!)

Hi and welcome to bhuz. Please take a look at the Great Lakes Bellydance Convention which is held in November in Michigan. I have gone the last few years and it is well worth the money.

What city is that convention held? Something tells me it must be Novi, Detroit, Auburn Hills...?
