Thread: Hi from Australia!

Hi from Brisbane, Australia! :)

Though I am originally from Russia, I grew up in Halifax, Canada and started taking bellydance classes there. I started just going to classes with a friend, but she quit, and I just fell in love with it!

Then ended up moving to Australia, first to Sydney then to Brisbane and didn't take classes for a few years, and just got back into it early this year. I'm now studying from Nerissa, the amazing and beautiful bellydancer in Brisbane :) I just participated in my first performance with her other students a couple weeks ago - the Middle-Eastern Dance Extravaganza, which was so much fun!

I'm actually a wildlife artist first and dancing is more of a hobby, but I love finding out more about the culture of the lands that the dance comes from, and learning to move more gracefully. And of course, the glittery costumes are fun too! :) I organised my very first real bellydance costume for the aforementioned class performance, and I think I'm hooked..

So... yes! Hi! This looks like a great and friendly forum, and I hope to participate and learn from all of you :)
