Hi I am a 47 year old Social Studies teacher. I began three months after a bitter divorce and I have used the bellydancing to gain new confidence and sensuality. Years before, I was too afraid to wear a bathing suit to the beach and due to this I can now wear a bikini to the beach, go running with a sports bra on, and try new things. What a great reinvention in the last year

Hello there. I see you live up in Maine. Not sure how far up you are without going to mapquest. If you can, there are always a lot of workshops in the Boston area. I live down here in CT and I have the option to go to either NY or Boston for events, which is a good thing. Boston has oodles of dancers and workshops.
I'm glad the dance is helping you to heal.

Hi fellow New Englanders! What a thrill to find you all here. I started dancing about 2 months ago and am in love with this beautiful, artistic, sensuous form of feminine expression. I love putting on my beautiful clothing, chatting with my sisters, and dancing my heart out. I'm 45, on the verge of an empty nest and am LOVING this freedom - belly dancing is a natural fit.
