Thread: New Member Introduction

Hello everyone:

I'm both new here and new to bellydance. I have no access to any teachers or classes where I live, so about a year ago I started teaching myself using DVDs at home when I could. Unfortunately, I also began having a series of health problems and other issues that prevented me from continuing, so now I am just looking to start back up again.

I am 35, single, no children, 1 pet cat. I have lived most of my life in the western US, but am originally from the part of Pennsylvania that is just over the WV state line (Pittsburgh area outskirts).

My other interests are: Languages and Language Arts (creative writing, literature, folktales and legends, linguistics, translation and interpretation, memoir writing), sociology, criminology, and history.

I telecommute as a part time writer for a domestic violence shelter for a paying job and have a small local blog I run for community outreach and some extra writing and editing practice.



I am a huge Shakira fan....other favorite music is Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen, Dylan, and CCR....(Shakira is the only one of those I can dance to..obviously)
