Thread: it's my annual de-lurk post

hi all! what's the opposite of the bhuzzer who flounces off swearing she'll never return and is back in a week? the bhuzzard who keeps saying she'll come back, and doesn't. that would be me.
no decent reason not - well, the time suck thing.

but bhuz is still in my heart. couple weeks ago someone at work really hacked me off and i just caught myself before i snapped "don't make me go folkloric on your ass!"

and i regularly wish i had the 3AM zill brigade.

hey, i'm gonna be in Chapel Hill NC next week. if anyone's up for a meet up, i'd love to get together.

LOL! Have a great time in NC! And sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to you at Anaheed's Swap Meet in Sept.

the last several years have been so intense that belly dance just seems irrelevant.
within one year, i lost my father and both my dogs, and two other relatives. my father's death started some unraveling in the family, including a year and a half long psycho-drama around my certifiable tin-hat wearing sister who is so crazy the rest of us - mom included - had to throw her out to save our own health and sanity.
and adopting an epileptic dog, and losing her and my 17 year old cat within 4 days.
i love the dance and music, but the "scene" with all its pettiness and competition and inane drivel, fakelore, and delusion was intolerable. i took Tamra-henna's community college class as many times as was allowed, and then her history of MED - which was great -but when that was over, i just ran out of stream.
i missed all my bhuz pals, but on top of everything else, i was battling vertigo and computer screens made me queasy.

i've kept my sanity by wallowing in my garden- had the front yard completely redone; hired someone to to the hardscape, but the rest i'm doing myself: roses, bearded iris and drought tolerants. now i'm starting on the backyard project: re-doing it entirely in California native plants.

and thank dogness for Preston, my 18 yr old cat (brother of poor Bell who went to the Bridge last year), and April June the pup i adopted, hard to believe it's been a year! April is a puppy mill breeder dump; he couldn't sell her so he was going to put her down. couldn't sell her b/c the idiot is breeding a [female dog] who produces pups with congenital spine deformities. i had to teach April to walk. she'd sit up and then drag her rear along in a sitting position. there's a special place in hell reserved for puppy millers.

like i said, getting worked up over BD just wasn't something i had energy for.

Wow. I am so, so sorry for your losses and the stresses you've been through. I was hoping you were just off somewhere being awesome and having fun. ,f:: I hope things are turning a happier corner for you now.

You have such a massive personality and a wickedly funny (and maybe just kinda wicked) sense of humour that's been missed, and I'm sure has helped you in the last couple years. If there's anything this random halfway across teh wurld person can do to help - I can talk gardens? Because they interest me (and now I have one! w00t!), even though I am teh suckage and seem to murder every plant I touch. ..c:: Even prehistoric ones that have survived the dinosaurs through comets and whatnot. - just drop me a line.

In the meantime, it's just good to see you again.

the power of bhuz: helped me connect with Andalee in No Carolina, so when i was on vacation, we were able to spend a very enjoyable afternoon wandering a beautiful garden and talking about belly dance and the universe.

Yep, bhuzzers can be good about those meetups. I agree about gardens and mine needs some work before the winter dormancy.
