    A belated introduction (SaidaGwyn)

    Hi belly dancers!

    I just recently started two threads (one in the French forum, and one in the Student forum) about choosing a belly dance teacher in Paris, and then realised that I hadn't yet introduced myself. So here I am!

    As you can probably guess from my username, my dance name is Saida, and my real name is Gwyn(eth). I'm a graduate student in math, and I started belly dancing two years ago (in the newfound freedom that came after I passed my qualifying exam). I normally live in the San Francisco Bay Area, but I am now in Paris for 8 months. I've been here for about 4 months, and have been slow to settle in (I can tell great stories about all kinds of French bureaucracy, including my university taking 2 months to pay me!), so among other things, I haven't started taking belly dance classes here yet. It's been way too long, and I am ready to get back to it.

    My dance background is mostly in ballet (which I studies regularly for 10 years as a kid, and off and on since then), and, secondarily, modern dance (4 years in high school).

    I guess that's it for now. It's great to be here!
