Big hello to all my belly dancing sisters around the world

Just wanted to introduce myself here. I'm Luna. I'm American, and originally from Brooklyn, New York, but I've been living in Cairo for the past 2 and a half years. I initially went as a Fulbright scholar to write a book about the decline of belly dance in Egypt, but I got sidetracked and started dancing instead.

After finally extracting myself from Cairo 3 months ago on account of harrowing personal and political circumstances, I had a sudden twist of fate, and will be returning to Egypt. Against all odds, my Egyptian residency papers were approved last week. I am now "legal," and am contracted to dance at Memphis Tours Nile Cruises, where I'll be performing every night.

My time in Egypt has been really special for me in so many ways, and I'd like to share that with other dancers. You can read all about my experiences on my new blog, "Kisses from Kairo," at Kisses from Kairo*. I really hope you like it, and that you send me your comments, complaints, suggestions... you know the deal. ;) I'll also be keeping a blog here on Bhuz.

Hi Luna!

Aren't you also in the Mohamed Shahin and Dalila of Cairo DVDs? I've been eyeing some of your costumes!!! You were selling a pink/purple/silver one that was stunning a while back! Beautiful! What a joy it must be to live out your dreams of in Cairo!

It is also my dream to study in Egypt. I'll be certain to seek you out for lessons when the time comes!!!

I wish! I went back in the 90's, when I was just a baby belly. Never made it back, but always wanted to. Maybe one of these days...if I do I will contact you!

Yes I know :) I'll be selling some stuff shortly. Do you have anything specific in mind?
