I am new to this forum, although not new to belly dance. I have been looking around for a new belly dance teacher for the past couple of weeks and haven't made any final decisions yet. I feel like I am at a crossroads with belly dance. I thought about doing another dance form or maybe just another style of belly dance. I dabbled in some other dances but nothing seemed to fill the void like belly dance.
I did not realize how much belly dance has impacted my life until I had to stop my previous classes and consider new options. Belly dance was both a great stress reliever and a fun way to exercise. It was the anchor that kept me steady when other things in my life were turbulent. So when suddenly I had to find a new teacher it was almost like going through a break up with a romantic partner. I do not intend to sound over dramatic but it really has been hard to let go and move on. I hope I can continue learning belly dance and that I will get over this time of disquiet and settle back down to a routine with regular classes and practice.
On another note, I do have used costumes that I want to swap/sell. I am not too sure about the protocol for doing this. The Swap Meet seems to be the place to post so I'll probably post something there in the next couple of weeks.

Welcome to Bhuz! There are a lot of very knowledgeable folks here, I learn a lot from the various discussions. We *do* have the occasional cat fight, but all in all, Bhuz is a good place to be!

Thank you for the warm welcome zorba :)
There a little group of American Tribal Style dancers who are looking for places to perform, mostly haflas, in the Philadelphia area. If anyone knows of any events please let me know.
