Thread: New member from Montana

Hello All!

Just joined from the big sky country of Montana. I'm a young (in experience) dancer, but older in age (mid 50's).

I look forward to the wisdoms of fellow dancers of all experience levels. You never know what you can learn from anyone at any given time. Sometimes you think you're learning and you secretly just taught someone else something.

My start in belly dance was in American style. After six months I was interrupted by other goings-on in life. Interrupted for two years, in fact. Now I have six months of Egyptian style under my belt (if you can pardon the pun). Life is good.

Welcome! I'm afraid I don't know my geography of Montana well - how far is Helena from Billings? Reason I ask is two bellydancer friends of mine recently moved back to the Billings area and if that's not too far away from you I can let them know you're a shimmy or two away ;)

Howdy, neighbour. I'm in Calgary, Alberta, and I'm in my mid-50s, too. I've also dabbled in both tribal fusion and Egyptian styles, although I'm currently focusing on Egyptian.

Helena is about a four hour drive west of Billings. I used to live in Alaska (Anchorage), so four hours doesn't seem too terribly far away.

That's one of the beauties of belly dance. It is an ageless dance, and we become ageless when we turn on the music and dance.
