I have been having the worst foot problems for the last year - extreme pain on my arch and sole on both feet. I discovered that I have a condition called plantar fasciitis, a problem with the muscles on the bottom of the foot. I have somewhat flat feet and I over pronate (my ankles turn in), but I never did anything special to protect my feet because they didn't hurt - until now. Now they are killing me! When I read about the treatment for plantar fasciitis, I was dismayed to find out that the recommended treatment is to (among other things) never, ever go barefoot and never wear flip flops or most types of sandals, since they have no arch support. I live in flip flops from spring 'til fall, so this really put a cramp in my style. I spent all last summer miserable and hot in sneakers - and my feet still hurt.

But now, I can wear flip flops again and my feet feel better than ever! I discovered Orthaheels, the best brand of flip flop and sandal for anyone with foot problems. Orthaheels come in a bunch of styles and colors and look just like regular flip flops and sandals - however, the sole is a million times better for your feet than a normal sole. Orthaheels have a very high, supportive arch and a very deep heel cup, so even people with plantar fasciitis can wear flip flops with no pain - which is incredible when you have been suffering like I have. I tried the Tide sandal in black, a classic flip flop style with a thin shiny stripe on the strap to give it a bit of flair. It also comes in many other colors. The shoes only come in whole sizes and a 9 fit me perfectly, though I usually wear a 9.5 in shoes.

It took me about a week to get used to wearing shoes with such a high arch, though it didn't hurt - just felt very different for a little while. And then once I grew used to it, I didn't notice the high arch anymore - all I noticed was how my plantar fasciitis wasn't bothering me anymore, no matter how far I walked! I was pain free for the first time in ages! I also noticed that my posture and alignment improved, because the Orthaheel's high arch support forced me to stop over pronating, and so my ankles and knees are alined in a healthier, straighter position, resulting in better overall posture. They are really the most amazing shoes!

I will definitely order some more Orthaheels and I would like to try their arch support insoles so that I can still wear still wear some of my old bad (non supportive) shoes.

Pro: Life changing shoes - I can wear flip flops again and my feet feel great! Orthaheels look like normal shoes, not orthopedic ones.
Con: No cons, but I would love to see them make a black ballet flat and some other more fashionable styles, like a gladiator sandal. I would buy them all!
