..crying.:I recently had my Saroyan Sword stolen, I am CRUSHED! was in the process of searching for a second to do a dual sword technique....I did MARK my sword...being the chemistry nerd I am and working in medical laboratories, I have access to many reagents, acids...etc. Some acids have an strange effect on steel...I put a drop of 'acid' on my sword and it turned it to a bluish hue on the area by the handle - there is NO mistaking this mark. I did this in the event of attending an event so MY sword didn't get mistaken for someone else's. PLEASE be on the look out for this sword on ebay or possibly even bhuz. don't think so...I think more ebay!!!! I know most people on bhuz.com and KNOW it wouldn't be my sisters in dance- if you even suspect or see a Saroyan sword for sale, please let me know, I can identify the mark, it is in the 'shape' of something only I can describe.
Now I am desperately seeking another Saroyan, so if anyone knows of one for sale or has one, PLEASE contact me - I am beyond bummed! I will pay whatever, that was my baby..crying.: and me of all people that would give you anything I had, even if it hurt....thieves suck! Thank you. PS. even tried to call Harry S. to see if he knew of one somewhere or had one hanging around to no avail....you can privately message me at barbbellydances@hotmail.com

I have bought a few costumes of late that I have gotten and upon inspection thought, 'you have got to be kidding me', I paid that much money for THIS?! REALLY?! Of course, it's not only on here, it is ebay and other sites...you pay a lot of money for a costume that looks great in the picture, get it and say.......WTF? It is one thing to pay $200 - $500 for a used Professional costume and have some things that need a little TLC, but when someone does a homejobby and charges PREMIUM price, you get it and tons of stones are missing, their basting is coming apart, they have covered a cheap bra with the seams falling apart, it's cheezy in every way....states that authentic stones, and yes there are, but then you come upon all the pieces with colored glass pieces, ugh. Where has the integrity and pride gone? I respect all the wonderful sisters that post disclosures, well done, on the other hand if you are a newbie to this community making or covering CRAP costumes that you think look good.....remember that in THIS WONDERFUL community of Belly Dance Sisterhood if you think your reputation can withstand the NEGATIVE publicity that WE can generate your way....then by all means, sell your garbage....in closing PLEASE, we LIVE and LOVE our costumes and take great pride in workmanship! If you have reworked a costume and it is NOT professional, please disclose, if it is re-worked...please disclose, IF IT IS re- worked, please don't charge prices that are ridiculous!!!! Remember, KARMA is a powerful thing.

Hi, just wondered if any other bhuzzers out there are involved with the World Shimmy Mob, May 12th , hosted by Sabeya? It benefits Shelters of Abused Women & Children. Would love a little feedback back if you are involved. I am a total advocate for these shelters, as unfortunately, I experienced this years ago and there were none of these wonderful places to go! So I am beating the path on my extremely busy schedule getting donations & trying to figure out how to teach some beginner students this complicated choreography (and explain the differences between the styles in the dance). I LOVE what this stands for and love the fact that this will give my 'redneck' community attention to a beautiful art form...but think this choreography could have been simplified so that more dancers would join! Feedback appreciated! Last years' choreography was not bad at all, this year's choreography ... ..confused::
