Electronic Circus, April 15th, Newby's Memphis

My group Orbital Resonance is a male-female DJ duo from Memphis. We have our first show this friday, April 15th, at Newby's Memphis. I have been embedded in music my entire life with piano, guitar, and just about any instrument I could get my hands on. My love for electronic music has reached another level with producing my own music from scratch. I currently use Ableton Live, a producing/mixing software. Progressive house and trance are the main types of electronic music we are producing. If you live in Memphis, you should check out our first show. The electronic music scene in Memphis is very small and we hope to bring house music to Memphis.

The addition of fire performance props to my dance has been an exciting and beautiful journey. Props do not define the dancer, but challenges one's expression of dance. Fire dances all on its own- watch a candle as it burns. The connection of our body to the natural movements of a flame is an interesting concept. Of the choreographies and dance moves we all know and love, its turning those moves into our "own" that makes us unique and the performance all the more interesting :)
