    Our June 24th Gala is looming closer and closer. I'm home late after two back to back classes. We have been practicing our choreographies and I am pumped!

  2. My Mornings - How to start my day off right

    As I have been studying and learning more about health, nutrition, diet and exercise I have come to fully embrace the belief there is nothing more important than starting your day off right. After you wake up from a night's sleep and a long fast, your body needs all the support it can get to prepare itself for the long day of activity ahead.   3. I'm performing in Hannan's June 24 Gala!

    Ok. It's official. I am now registered for, and starting choreography practice this
    week for Hannan's Belly Dance Studio's Friday June 24 Gala Show!

    At least for now, I expect to be performing as a member of not one, but two different Beginner classes, one led by the owner of the studio, and another led by a different teacher. We will see how the choreographies go over the coming

    I really liked this when I read it. I can relate to it very much right now. Sometimes it feels like the changes I want to happen can't happen quickly enough for me. But, I realize that it is far better to make slow, steady, lasting changes that happen over time and will stay, rather than to rush ahead and fall too fast and hard to be able to get back up, or to be so frustrated ...

  5. Progress

    It's been a week, and I'm definitely back in the groove as far as the gym is concerned. That feels great!
    I plan on returning to dance classes this week.

    I've got the official word - I should take one more session of Beginner level classes before moving up to Continuing Beginner.
    Then, apparently once one is in Continuing Beginner, students spend an average of one year in that level.
