hmmm... interesting! spying on the keywords in my site?
I am using a program which shows all kinds of statistics for my site - hits, pages, referrals, search phrases that lead the visitor to me, etc... nothing extra, it's just a free program.
It also shows the actual URL from which someone got to me.
It showed a site of a keyword-spy website, in which you can enter someone's website and it will show you what keywords they used.
I though it was funny (and maybe flattering? more like weird) that someone entered both of my addresses (one is just a forward) to see what I'm using.
The funny thing is that it's not even correct. The keywords came up were just some kind of list which showed some of the words that appear throughout my site, but most of them were some weird, random combinations. So good luck using those ..g.:
Antyhing like this happened to anyone?
By the way there's really no need for this. There is a very easy way to view someone's keywords from their page.
Not sure if this should have been in a different section, I guess I put it here because it's a "competition" issue - haha!

Re: hmmm... interesting! spying on the keywords in my site?
Yes, of course, there are lots of sites out there with articles and instructions.
I currently don't spend any money on advertizing (I will renew PartyPop though). When I did adwords, it didn't work for me, and yahoo sponsored search actually did, but only did it for a while.
Since then I've been spending my efforts and time on optimizing my site for search engines.
I do put in search phrases and sit there and look at who comes up and try to figure out why. It's hard. (but I don't use any spying software, etc). I know all about content, and key word, and keyword density, etc. Yet some sites would come up way earlier than mine, and they had almost no content at all, hardly ever updated their site, and I am the opposite. I think I figured out a lot, now I come up on the 2nd pages for several location region specific but general phrases. (it was donw to 5-7th page before).
But there's still so much I don't know.
I guess that's a goold spot to be in, hence someone trying to go around and "spy" on me. The more I think about it, the funnier it is.
