Shipping Advice
Ok- odd question but...
What is the best way to ship a dance cane? It is about 37 inches long. The boxes I got from the USPS are an inch or 2 too short.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Ravena

Would a poster tube work?

Re: Shipping Advice
If you can't find a poster tube big enough, go to UPS. They have boxes that it'll fit in.

Re: Shipping Advice
I had a cane shipped to me on 2 separate occasions by US Snail. The shipper simply folded some cardboard around the cane, taped it to death and stuck it in the mail!
I'm not sure that's the best way though...

Re: Shipping Advice
If I were you I'd cut the end off of one of the boxes that you got and add it onto another box to make superbox.
When I ship a hula hoop I just wrap it in bubble wrap, then wrap it in brown paper and put clear tape over top. It is still semi-hoopable because the hole stays in the middle!

Re: Shipping Advice
yes! Thank you!
It sounds like I need to do a little surgery on some boxes. This is perfect and way more cost effective than what I was looking into.
I think I am gonna use the boxes I have and re-arrange them to accomodate this long cane. Perfect!
Thank you...

Re: Shipping Advice
When you have the Frankenbox built, get the dimensions and check the web sites for USPS and UPS. USPS charges an extra rate based on dimension, so often for large or odd shaped packages UPS is the cheaper way to go.

Re: Shipping Advice
I believe that USPS won't ship if it's more than 108" around.
