Follow Up - Insurance
Just wanted to follow up on the insurance issue I brought up a few weeks ago...
I decided to purchase event insurance for my annual Student Showcase (April 26) through Sadler Sports and Recreation Insurance (Sports insurance quotes, liability, accident)
I submitted the application via fax on Monday, and received my certificate of insurance on Wednesday. I am fully covered for up to $2mil (aggregate claims) for only $382. And they were very helpful - returned my phone calls right away and answered my emails immediately.
After my show is over, I will be purchasing performer liability insurance and teachers insurance through them as well. Hopefully, i will never need to test how efficient they are at handling a claim, but I have been very happy with them so far!

That's wonderful, daniela! I paid a similar amount for my latest dance festival/pro show. The kicker was that the actual insurance premium was only about $150 -- the rest was a type of broker fee, which amounted to almost as much as the premium. And I did everything via website, so there was no virtually no cost to the broker. I think I might have to get my broker's license and make a mint doing absolutely nothing . . .

Re: Follow Up - Insurance
Going to get my folder . . .
I'm back!
I used a broker called R.V. Nuccio and Associates, Inc; the address is local to me in Southern California; the actual insurer is Western Heritage Insurance Co.; an individual probably can't deal directly with Western Heritage but, then again, I didn't try . . .
R.V. Nuccio's website is Special Event Insurance :: RV Nuccio and Associates, Inc.
You might be able to google Western Heritage . . .
Good luck!

Thanks so much. Even with the broker fee, the quote was still less than what I paid last year. So I very likely may use them...
