Thread: Putting it out there for...

Ok, I FINALLY got my biz cards
(after waiting forever for them from company A - then finally going through a diff company all together)

And now I'm putting it out there for critique...
but since I just got them in - will at least go through these before changing or anything.

I really like the front and what a great name: Beledi bay! I wish I could come up with something like that instead of just Andalee Belly Dance. One problem that I noticed is that your name isn't on it. How will people know who they are calling? Is Beledi Bay enough for people? If you think about corporate biz cards they often have company name and contact name.

The other thing, which is a small thing, is that I don't like that the fonts are different on each side. Maybe you could make the "Different Styles - Traditions of belly dance in the same font as beledi bay, and then make the list below match the other font used on the front...Just an idea.

Oh and one more thing, it's hard to tell in a photo on the web but it looks like the shadow on the front is too dark...just the small fonts on the bottom though. At the top it looks fine.

The bay comes from the fact we are in the Tampa bay area - and of course Beledi (taking it from referances to urban dancers in the M.E. - of the people)
Hence "dance of the bay peoples" (our thinking anyway...)

And you've no idea how difficult coming up with a name was. LOL
Racked our wee brains for months! Even ran a naming contest (partly for ides, and partly to begin generating buzz). The winner of the contest got $150, even though we didn't use the winning name. (entries were voted on by a selection of our students).

We wanted something catchy, rolled off the tongue easily - wasn't one that has been sooo overused in the community (like Lotus, Caravan, Desert - and so on).

Anyhoo - we like it...
And these are just the studio cards - have ones printed with my own name just above the address (as have the other dancers/instructors associated with the studio). We're all having prospective clients call in to the studio rather than a personal number for any hiring or info (added measure of protection for dancer)
