Thread: Party Pop Paid Listings: Worth the $$$?

I'm considering an upgrade to the paid PartyPop listing, to tide over my insatiable need for gigs until I get 1. my slick, fashion-y photo shoot, and 2. a kickass website with fresh promo pics, intimidating contracts in legalese and painstakingly written ad copy. I figure by switching to the paid listing, clients would much sooner go for a dancer they can see, as opposed to chancing it with Suzie Nippletassels & Co.

Can any of you vouch for positive results from making the switch? Any not-so-positive feedback?

I like it. I get a lot of gigs from there, although I used to get more before so many darn dancers listed themselves! For the NY area, you have to get to page two before you run out of paid listings.

I know some Bhuzzers have said they were really happy with their PartyPop listing, but I've gotten ZERO inquiries from mine and don't intend to renew it.

I suspect it works best for dancers in urban areas? Just a guess.

I really think it depends on your area. There are a couple of dancers here int eh DFW area that tried it including myself. I tried it for a year and got no more gigs than I normally did. Plus if I google search for "belly dancers fort worth" my page shows up before the Party pop add.
Try it for a year and see if it helps. If not you can always cancel it!

My little corner of the world is pretty small, but there are only two paid listings for my entire state (both are dancers of completely different stylistic niches), so I'm thinking it might be worth it to take the plunge. I've gotten a decent handful of gigs from my unpaid listing, anyway. Probably couldn't hurt.

I would google "bellydancer [your area]" and see what comes up. If partypop doesn't get a lot of hits in your area, it won't be one of the first listings, and might not get you a lot of jobs. But when I google "bellydancer new york" or any combination of those terms, it's always one of the first sites listed, so NY bder's get a lot of traffic on party pop.

Makes sense. It's pretty high up when you google "CT Belly Dancers," so I'm thinking I'll give it a try.

Anybody know if they resolved the linking to 1,0001 Exotic Dancers issue?

I renewed my listing just recently and I'm not sure if it was worth it but we'll see.
It is hard to say how many leads come through partypop, but I know that last year I got a lot of hits on my own site through my partypop page and this time, hardly anything.
