I need a blurb...
Can anyone think of a good way to say "Come to my classes. Hire me to dance at your party"?
I am putting an add in the program for the recital at one of the dance schools where I teach. I want to get the above message across without flat out saying it.
I am not creative. Any thoughts?:Aembarassed:

Has anyone ever done a write up for you before, that you could pinch?
What are your main strengths? What do you like to teach/perform?

Nope, never had a write up, and I don't need anything too long either. Just a few lines.
I teach your basic bellydance class - in that studio the class is beginner, mainly. And my shows are your basic AmCab -veil-zills-sword-wings combo.
I guess my strength is being "basic"

How about something along the lines of, "Hip"notic bellygrams and lessons by Danielabellydance.
I'm not good at stuff like this either so that's about the best I can do.

The most effective ad I've used for classes was really simple:
big letters:
Learn to Bellydance.
Sound like fun?
It is!
Maybe you could do something like that on one side, your pic, and then:
Liven up your party --
Hire a bellydancer!
on the other side. In my experience, the word 'bellydance' (or belly dance) as big as possible, plus a pic, works really well.

Lauren,
I like all those - great ideas - but then you're a pro at that.
Daniela, I'm better at mocking things up in photoshop so here's an approach.
I've had to layout a bunch of ads this week at work - it's actually my least favorite thing to do because it's so hard to get the copy right - so it's not you, it is really difficult!

Um....I wish that WAS me....she's HOT!! Can I pretend that is me and use her??
Seriously, I like the text. Good idea - short, simple, to the point. Thank you!

I love Dani's copy for classes, and would totally go with her suggestion. I bow to your photoshop skillz, Dani!

For performances, I use the following "tag line": Enhance your next party or event with a dazzling Belly Dance performance by Galatea!

WOW, Dani . . . I mean it, really . . . WOW!
OHMIGOSH! I just remembered that I have a pretty good shot of myself with a veil that might work with a page set-up like that.
Gots to get on that!
Thanks so much for your inspiration . . . I will be copying!

Please use any idea I put out there as a freebie if it will help you.
I'll have to write one for you that would appeal to slacker butt belly dancers like me who've lost their motivation and need to be dragged back to class! ..g.:
(I tend to write ad copy I'd respond to so can't say what broad appeal it will have.)
