    teaching at corporate fitness center

Hello ladies, I'm wondering if anyone is teaching at corporate fitness center? I've got an offer from the company which has it's own gym and fitness center onsite, so that employees can do sports/dance/yoga in the lunch time or a the end of the day... I'm not much excited about what they offered me in terms of pay, so I'm wondering if anyone can share the rates they are paid at similar arrangements. (I'd like to negotiate with them and need some industry rates to back up my words:).

Thank you! ( you can pm me if you don't want to disclose rates here)

At my previous job (non-dancing job) I had the use of a Corp. gym but in order to use it they took out 10.00 a month - regardless of how often I went. Regardless of how often an employee goes, once the employee signs up, whether they go once a year or every day, the company still took the money out of the paycheck - so I would find out how many employees the company has and the cost of the gym per employee each month.

I work at a corp gym. They refused to pay me a % like my other gigs because of their corporate status. So they pay me a sad low wage and I get a free membership and get to rub elbows with chicago bears and Bulls players when I am on the eliptical..like I care.

Re: teaching at corporate fitness center

Several years ago, I was an employee of a fitness club in Orange County, California. As an employee, I was paid an hourly wage of $35 and the usual taxes were deducted. So, every two weeks I got my little check for $63 . . .

I think fitness club wages are comparable to what corporations should pay for the same service. So, if you can get some info on both fitness club and other corporate fitness center rates, I think you'll have a good place to start your negotiations!
