LARGE workshop in banquet hall
Hello all!
So I've been asked to do a short performance (10 minutes) and 50 minute workshop at a rather large bridal shower (125 guests). Usually, I've done bridal showers for up to 30 people and I think that 125 is rather huge. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience doing such a large workshop and any advice on what to do/ not do, etc...or might a workshop be unfeasible for a crowd that large?
Suggestions?

I've done something similar at Women's Wellness Fairs and such, though never for that many a private event like a shower.
My advice is to make sure they have something elevated for you to stand on so everyone can see you, and see if they can provide you with a microphone or no one will be able to hear you over all the giggling and chatter.

I've taught ballroom dance classes with 90 or so people. It's do-able, but yes...you need a microphone.
Also, remember that not everyone will probably dance. There will be a fair number of folks that just won't be comfortable or are too tired, etc.
Make sure you get paid well. It's a lot to handle.

And ham it up...you wont be turning out any pros at this deal..so up the entertainment factor. Find some targets for the fun factor...bride, mother of the bride, etc. Ask in advance if this is the type of thing they expect or would like of course, but I lay you odds the girls just wanna have fun!
