Thread: Instructors' pay rates

Thanks to all who shared their salary info with me.

It took some mustering of courage, but I just sent a long email to all of the other dance teachers at my venue (ballet, salsa, belly dance, and ballroom) detailing my view of our current pay, which is rather abysmal. I cc'ed it to the instructional programs manager out of professional courtesy.

Now we have to see what shakes down..w.:

Do you still get paid by hour and not by student. When I taught Salsa aerobics and beginner aerobics at SIU it was awful. Nice facility though.

C'dale hasn't changed. Instructors still get paid by the hour, and a scantty pay it is.

I am a student, and was appalled whe nI found out how little th instructors get. Especially knowing how much the SIUC students pay in fees to use the REC every semester. Where is the money going?
