When you are sick...
what do you do, if you are the only person covering a gig? Do you have another dancer who agrees to fill in for you for the once-in-a-blue-moon times you are too sick to dance? Are the customers generally ok with that anyway?

I have a dance partner that I have no problem calling if I'm sick or injured. There are also a few choice dancers in the area that I could call on.
My contract stipulates that a dancer of my choosing may come in my place in case of injury or illness. The client will be notified as far in advance as possible and reserves the right to cancel the contract but I have yet to have anyone cancel.

If I can't make myself better in time I find a replacement or if it is a class I pay a substitute.

I am on the sub list for a couple of restaurants. There was a time I was dancing about twice a month at one, once a month at the other. But this also covers times when the house dancer is unable to dance do to other - better paying - commitments.
