To those who dance at bride/baby showers
How does one find that work? Word of mouth? Stalking in the party store?

The ones I've gotten have all contacted me through my website. I looked into a Bridal Fair once, but it was outrageously expensive!

Thanks for all the quick feedback! We have also talked about booth space at the local womens show. Showers are an untapped venue where I live.

Re: To those who dance at bride/baby showers
Funny you'd mention this.
Two of my students and I just did a bridal shower yesterday. The hostess is a coworker and that how we got the gig -- but her neighbor is a reporter for our local tv station and he shows up with his honking big camera/recorder and lo and behold there we are on the 6pm and 11 pm news last night. .w.: Wish I'd have known he'd be there so I'd have been better prepared to be interviewed, but i'm still hoping it results in a few new calls?
So, find yourself a friend who has a tv-reporter living nearby who will agree to host a shower and arrange to have the neighbor come and video . . . LOL -- sometimes things just fall into your lap!

Bwahahahaha. That's a great story!! And so true. Sometimes you just can't buy great exposure like that.

Re: To those who dance at bride/baby showers
you could look up local wedding coordinators and ask if you could send them a promo pack. you could look up local doulas, midwives and birth centers to ask if you could bring a little stack of cards or brochures to their offices. you could look up places where people buy craft papers and such to make invitations and party favors and see if they have a place you can display something.
