e-newsletters which do you recommend?
I like the one dahlal uses but I'm looking for something super spiffy that has a few options
-allowing people to sign up for a monthly newsletter by clicking on a button and signing up from the website
-one that can categorize groups of people for me, say customers for dance, customers for clothing, people who buy wholesale, so that i can create specific-to-their-interest newsletters that go just to them
and..for creating the newsletter, something that makes data entry really super easy so i can hire someone like my teen to do it..i'm not sure how this typically works, do you gather email addresses and input them manually to create a newsletter?
it would be super sweet if someone decided they no longer wanted the newsletter they could have an easy way of turning it off or leaving the list without a data entry person having to scan thru hundreds of emails to delete it..
what do you guys recommend? i'm willing to pay a monthly service fee for something sahweet that makes life easy.
muchas gracias

I like Constant Contact, and I think they start at like $15/month. Fits all your criteria, but might be fancier than what you're looking for...

this one looks perfect! i wish i could import my ebay store mailing list ...blah.
what do you suggest as an incentive for someone to join a mailing list? discount on product? something like that?
when i joined the dahlal newsletter i simply enjoyed receiving colorful emails with new costumes or sales..

Re: e-newsletters which do you recommend?
a discount would work, or a monthly giveaway, with names drawn from your mailing list?

discount would be great, now how would i track something like that? just make sure those who sign up mention that they signed up and are on the list and are eligible for a discount?
and make it time related , like sign up by Sept 2008 and receive x discount on x ?

uh...I don't know. I saw that it lists a "Multi-language email template footer" option somewhere, but I don't know if they offer translation as well.

Re: e-newsletters which do you recommend?
Jumping in to just rave about Constant Contact. They actually did a feature on the dance studio I owned in their "Hints & Tips" newsletter and mailed that out to over 4 million people. I was pretty excited about that. LOL. Great exposure for the overall franchise. (It wasn't a bellydance studio, but an Arthur Murray Studio).
Anyway, I really love their product as well as their customer service. It was awesome.
Also, there is a "gift reminder" feature which might be useful for you, since you sell actual "products".
I know there are now other companies that cost less than Constant Contact, but you really can't beat what they offer.

3rd praise for constant contact. i use at work (architectural firm), and can say from experience that their customer service and tech support are great! they walked me thru a few procedures over the phone, very very helpful. they also have these great free webinars with tons of ideas and how-to's.
