Web site hosting with templates?
I've read this discussion on bhuz but can't remember the answers.
I want to start a web site and know that bhuzzers know some good sites with templates. (I want to do it myself).
Any sites you have worked with would be helpful!
Thanks!!!

Re: Web site hosting with templates?
I love bizland.com. They have a wide variety of templates (though I don't use them, I've looked at them) and very cheap hosting packages (like $5.95/month) with no advertising on the site.
My favorite thing about bizland is that they will submit your site for free to all the major search engines every month, AND they give you nice clear reports so you can see where your visitors are coming from.

For my dancer site - I use Host Papa (HostPapa: America's Green Web Hosting Company Powered by 100% Green Energy)
They are a "green" company. They have templates though I did not use them. The price is 5.95/mo and you are doing your part for the environment. sweet!

Re: Web site hosting with templates?
I looked on godaddy, it looks good but I can't seem to find the start up fees? How do you find them or what did you pay for the start up?

Re: Web site hosting with templates?
From the godaddy homepage there is a green bar near the top, scroll over "site builders". It will bring up a drop down menu. The easiest way is to select "web site package deals". they include the website tonight templates, the domain name, private registration for something like $53.00 for 12 months. If you already have the domain you can just select the "website tonight" option and choose how many pages and for how long you want it hosted. There really are no start up fees. Your paying for the templates to make the sight and the hosting all together. It cost me less than 70.00 a year to keep my 5 page website up and running.

Re: Web site hosting with templates?
You can take a look at my website - Galatea~Belly Dance Performances and Classes in Milwaukee Wisconsin.
I did find their web builder caused me to change the layout I had planned on some pages. If you're looking for a Powerpoint/Publisher type of format where you can just drag and drop stuff wherever you want, you could be frustrated by Website Tonight. There are 4 or 5 definitive page ayouts you can work with, and that's about it.
According to GoDaddy's FAQ, you can change your template at any time. I'm not sure how foolproof it is, though, as I've never tried it.

Re: Web site hosting with templates?
I changed mine since the first one I picked didn't work out as well for me as I liked. It puts all your information you already have inputed right in to the new layout with very minimal changes needed. I'm still putting mine together - I just got it up last week so it still needs a lot more tweaking to do.

Re: Web site hosting with templates?
She's pretty good with the computer for a 16 year old huh? But you should see her RAQ!
Thank you, so glad you like it! I have to admit I am not always into purple (this is my first purple costume). I like red but she went with it, there are two red websites in the area, and I am so pleased with the results!

Re: Web site hosting with templates?
I really really like it. Great job. Was that using a template? the only thing I would change is the text color when you roll-over a menu item. It become invisible. Other than that I love it!

Re: Web site hosting with templates?
Faaria, congrats on the website. It's a great job. I think your studio photos look especially appealing. I'm just a touch green with envy!
One thing I noticed is that sometimes text is justified left, sometimes centred. I think it would look better if it was consistent throughout. I believe left justified is easier to read. Also, there's a typo in 'bellydance'' in the classes paragraph on your home page. :-)
