Thread: MADN Insurance

Hi

Does anyone on here have MADN insurance? How much is it and does it run to a ridiculous calender like the magazine does (everyone renews in spring sometime)?

My current insurance is up for renewal and its getting pricey (and I'm worried its getting less appropriate as they are asking for affiliation to official bodies etc). I am going on the JWAAD foundation course in autumn and I know that qualifies me for MADN insurance. I don't see myself doing any teaching before then so I'm wondering whether to just wait.

I have and it renews on either Nov or Dec 1st each year. It worked out with membership at £45 last year.I have friends who are insured under Dance-Uk and reckon it is cheaper.

Do you mean £45 or £145?
£45 seems incredibly cheap!

The dance UK website says theirs is £126 plus £25 membership.

Madn £20 membership and last year was £25 insurance but it was £31 the years before. You also get the free safety update day...you pay and it gets deducted from insurance.
I think my friend who used dance uk has to be insured for under 14s thereby lies the difference!

I never bothered with the MADN insurance scheme after getting mucked around by them, so I get my insurance from Foundation for Community Dance...£20 membership fee then £131 (???) for the premium. I suspect it's the same underwriters as Dance UK. You are insured for under 14s which is good if you're intending to teach that age group, but a pricey extra if you're not...
