If you don't use/check email don't put it on your contact form
This is a general mild plea to event and workshop organisers.
About 5 times in the last year I have been given flyers or even emails about workshops/haflas/other events with:
'to book a place contact X on *phone number* or *email*'.
I only have an expensive mobile phone so I naturally email which is free. In every single case I have not received a reply by email and, upon following up with a phone call have been told 'Oh, I never use or check email'.
If you don't use or check or have email please don't put it on your contact details. I am happy to phone, as is nearly everyone else -just make it clear that that is how you want people to get in touch by not giving them an 'email option'.
Pretty please.

One of my (increasingly many) pet peeves. It isn't just "the little people" - I can point to several Fortune 500 companies who have a large, beautiful, and expensive WebSite who TOTALLY ignore emails. GRRRRRR! Email should be checked at least ONCE per 24 hours, otherwise don't bother.

I feel the same way. Can't stand it when they give it to you as an option and then don't actually check it. Bad business practice in my opinion.

I agree-but then again it is easy for me to see that since I am addicted to my email. But seriously, if you have an event coming up, most people communicate this way now. So check it darn it!!!!

I am totally psycho about my email so it drives me crazy when others just ignore it.
The worst are the people that have those forms on their website that ask that you enter your info and question to be sent to blah blah blah. Now - you know those messages did not get lost in some spam wasteland.
Answer them!!

I am right there with you Ravena. I am always on my email as I only have a cell phone too and I swear if my Verizon bill gets any higher I am going to have to give them my first born to satiate them.
I check my email so many times a day people often comment on how fast I get back to them. I just laugh and tell them I am super organized but the truth is that I am an online professor for a University and grade English exams for foreigners for another company.
Email is soooo easy to use and check. I can't believe people don't use it when they have it.

This might just be me, but I also hate it when you have to use Microsoft Outlook or something other to email. I don't have it and I don't want it. My yahoo account is just fine. So what do you when they don't give email addresses and the contact button goes straight to one of the above mentioned email programs? It's very frustrating!

..l;,50 lashes with a wet veil!
I really don't mind if people don't use it/like it. It just makes me mad that people give it as an option when they simply don't 'do' email.
I think that the last straw for me is when I do a follow-up call and they act all surprised ..c:: that anyone would use email as a method of contacting them.
even though they've put it on their own contact form! ,f::

Re: If you don't use/check email don't put it on your contact form
Hi Sweetie and Lylagus!
To answer your question - two things can happen. If Outlook (or whatever) pops up with a new message when you click on the contact form, you can select the email in the "to" field and just cut and paste it as text in your yahoo mail message.
If you don't have the mail program that is supposed to automatically pop up installed, just hold the mouse over the link. In the grey bar at the bottom of the browser, it will write the full link. Eg: "Mailto: suzie@nippletassles.com" Then you will have to remember it (because you can't select text in that area) and type it into your new message.
You can test that by holding the mouse over any link in a webpage - the target web address or filename will show up at the bottom of your browser window.
