Thread: new store having issues, should I return to old site?

The new magento store is having issues. First i had to switch servers, no biggie but then the problems encountered:

1) wasnt receiving emails when orders placed..right now it's iffy(i still check the store manually by signing in to the control panel)

2) when buyers put things in their basket and go to checkout the store says items not in stock (and in fact they are)

3) shipping still having occasional problem when the usps side of things are down

4) I'm trying to list new items right now and can't get the images to load, the guy who did the site for me gave me 30 days of free tech support, of course this started happening on day 28 and we're still working on how to resolve it but its BAD timing as i need to list stuff for holidays like, yesterday

5) am trying to add images to the colors page , when i used ftp i understood the html pathway since i had an images folder ..the tech guy says it's "complicated" to do it thru magento (even though I repeatedly told him in the beginning that this store better be idiot friendly because my computer experience is nil) he assured me no problem yet now we are having problems. I don't want to update it in a few days I want to update it now.
And I tried putting pics in the picturetrail gallery I pay to use and using that as a pathway and again having problems, and they won't show up as thumbnails that click to larger photos so it's a BIG mess and I don't know where to begin..

i paid 600 bucks to make life easier, I realize there is a learning curve but right now the learning part is not the problem ..he can't get the images to load either ..

I love using etsy even though i pay small fees there..I could return the site to its original form and use the products page to directly link to each store category on etsy. Might make more sense anyways since I've been shelling out money to showcase things on etsy.

Well that's about 1600 I've spent on two different websites this year that I'm not able to work with, change or revise on my own although that was the number one criteria. Not too happy.
