Thread: Bhuz is going to be so proud of me!

First of all I quit my evil evil job yay me! (more time for Bhuz )

I hardly ever do private gigs, but I got one here is what happened. I got a call from some one in a city three hours away from a woman who wanted to send me her brother's house for a party. They wanted to send a belly dancer to the party that they could not attend to be "the life of the party".

I said ok where is it - answer - about 15 minutes away from me.

Then I said "wait have you seen me?" And she said no. I said " well let me send you a picture because I am heavily tattooed". So I did and she ended up calling me and saying no and apologizing but...
She would like me for her party but not for her 60 year old brother. Whatever right?

I refered her to some of my friends and felt relieved that I didn't walk myself into a situation that would have made me feel bad. In a room full of people who would miss my entire performance cause they couldn't get past the ink.

Oh I should mention that the area this party was in is a notriously snooty, upper class place. ( Lake Oswego)

Anyway I am so glad I turned it down.

I'm not tattoo'd (how is that word spelled, anyway?) like you are, Urbana, but I always ask about my audience and determine what its preference might be, for example, music (Arabic vs Turkish, etc) and costuming (2-piece vs dress) preferences.

Smart woman, Urbana! You get a "you go, girl" from me, too!
