more web site questions :)
Am trying to understand all of this..
the registered domain name is www.akaisilks.com
but the published pages on the blog site, (see right side) have a different url,
see it's under flamencocentral.bizland etc
Silk Description And Information
a looooong time ago when the site was first built, my friend used her site, flamencocentral, to form the templates, etc..it was a site she never ended up using ..it's hosted by bizland obviously
is there a way to change it thru bizland so that the above url is akaisilks.com/silk_info.html
see this is why blogs are easier. i dont know enough about websites to be allowed near them.

- Move akaisilks.com back to the original spot,
- Make a link to your blog accessible from the main page of akaisilks.com, and/or figure out how to embed the blog into the site,
- Fix the links on your site,
- Talk to BizLand about how (or even if!) they can turn off that flamencocentral.bizland.com address, so everything points to akaisilks.com,
- Double check in Google and other search engines to make sure flamencocentral.bizland.com is not directly linked by any websites, and inform them that the link is dead.
Re: more web site questions :)
The following is based on my Best Guess; I can't promise I grasp everything about your situation. :(
Simply put, one site can have multiple addresses. BizLand -- the people who run the computers that host your site -- appear to automatically provide a *.bizland.com domain name, and you also have your akaisilks.com domain name, as well. Both can point to the same set of web pages, and I suspect that, initially, that's what akaisilks.com was set up to do, so that, say, http://akaisilks.com/silk_products.html went to the same page as flamencocentral.bizland.com/silk_products.html. However, when you redirected akaisilks.com to The Morning Bleat, all that internal-to-the-web-server information was lost.
Having both point to the same place, in and of itself, doesn't hurt anything. The Internet is designed for this, and most Search Engines are more-or-less OK with it. Frankly, at this point, I'd strongly encourage you to sit down with a web site pro, and talk through these options in depth. But a guess on how to fix it would involve:

Re: more web site questions :)
Hey, now. Nothing 'bout dance is easy, either. It just takes patience, a bit of focus, and asking the right questions. :)
And there are more modern places for building up-to-date websites that don't wipe out your life, like Google Pages and Weebly. They provide nice templates, and ways to incorporate all manner of bits like your blog does -- including incorporating your blog into the site with ease, and doing that name redirect thing. I tend to recommend them, not older sites like BizLand, for people starting new sites, or seeking to move they old ones to new ground.
I do do website design, but my focus is web programming -- building the cool tools that run behind the page. The link to my blog is at the bottom of each of my posts. :)

Re: more web site questions :)
I am currently having my site updated and totally revamped, as well as changing the domain name and everything, but the site I have now is actually meant for weddings - it's through wedshare.com. I found it when I was planning my wedding, and it's very user friendly, plus they have plenty of nice backgrounds for you to choose from. It's extremely easy to update and gives you a domain name of your choice. I have used other templates and site builders, like Godaddy's Website Tonight and Vista Print, but Wedshare has by far the best range of style options, and there's really no way to screw it up, which has served me well!
