Call Forwarding for Business Line
Has anyone heard of Vumber - Home of the virtual phone number.
Someone suggested it to me as a business line and I'm curious to see if anyone has used it.
Thanks!

I've never heard of this before, but it sounds pretty cool. Would be interested also in knowing how it works for people. I'm about to print new business cards, so timing it good to give it a try!

I wrote on a similar service, GrandCentral, for an article at Gilded Serpent. I've used it for 2 years now; it's quirky, but does the basic job well.

Re: Call Forwarding for Business Line
I tried for Grand Central, but since it has been acquired by Google, it's in beta and I can't sign up. I'm going to read your article anyway though as it seems very similar and will probably save me some grief, so thank you.
Also, a friend suggested a Skype account too, so I'll check that out today and report back.

Skype is another good choice, actually -- just talked to a friend in Cairo with it!
I (obviously!) have a GrandCentral account; if anyone wants to seriously try it out, PM me with your email and I'll try to send you an invite.

I got an invite for GrandCentral in May and I still haven't been notified that I"m allowed to join, even after I sent in my info...seems like it's in limbo still

I just chatted with Razia on Skype. It was awesome to chat with her while she is in London. Love that!

Re: Call Forwarding for Business Line
My parents are in Australia and we talk on Skype, which is really nice. When my husband is out of the country for work he brings his laptop so we can use Skype. Technology is amazing these days. A lot of my Egyptian friends use ....oh shoot, now I'm forgetting... I think it's one of the instant messaging services (MSN/Yahoo/AIM) with video and audio to speak with their families.
ANYWAY- for business I use my cell phone because it's a nice way to keep it separate, keep my info private and still have access to my work whenever I need.
