Making your own Website
Hi Everyone,
I am going to share my technical source for my website. It is the most user friendly program going today. It can be edited in real time from your desk top. It is very affordable. You can do a 5 page website for 9.95 US a month or a 30 page website for 19.95 US a month. It has music clips to add and you can change the face of it anytime. Photo galleries, calander features, links etc.
Everything you could want to promote your studio or yourself. I have found it to be an indispensable tool. Especially if you have a studio or teach. You can have your students register online. I recieve tons of compliments on how professional it looks. I discovered this a couple of years ago. Since then about 7 other belly dancers in my area of the country have followed suit and began to use this program. So ..I thought I would share the info with all of you too!
You can build a temp site to see what it would look like before you commit.
Look at my site SuSu Abdo Entertainment Enterprises - Welcome
then go to Make Your Own Website | SiteSkins® to build your own. Have fun with this. It may be just what you are looking for!!..g.:

Re: Making your own Website
If you don't want to pay the site would collapse of course. You must own your own domain name ie.www.bellydancer.com to do this or any other website. If you don't want their services it collapses, but you would still own your domain name. You can build a website the old fashioned way with html, and ftp etc. That is why I love this site. Quick and user friendly and you don't have to be real tech savy to do it.

Susu:
Thanks for sharing this info. Quick question which may be a tad off-topic....when students register online, do they get a paypal link in their confirmation email?

I had a website through SiteSkins, and it was a pain in the a**. I just went through h** to unlock my domain through them. I'm thinking of doing another through Yahoo.

Re: Making your own Website
My thought was that it seems like it would be a wiser investment to own your domain name, pay for cheap hosting, and to get a website with a CMS system. That way you have all the same features without being locked into a forever deal. I know how much effort I have put into my own sites. I would hate to not "own" them.

Yes Samira I can see your point. I just find it very user friendly since I am extremley busy. It suits my needs at present. I am sorry to hear that someone had a hard time with them. I have never had issues. I love the ability to post something and in 2 seconds the change is effective. It really works with my hectic schedule. I work full time and commute 2 hours a day and teach bellydance 4 nights a week. Time is precious. I just thought I would share the technology info with everyone here incase it would aid them in their busy lives too..g.:

Sure, I get it. If it is something that works for you...go for it. I just know that there are ways to do what you are doing without being at the mercy of another company. It may cost more in the short term, but it saves you oodles in the long term. That's just my thoughts.
