DanzEmergencee or other dance temp agencies
has anyone heard of or used DanzEmergencee? I'm looking to start subbing for classes, or starting my own weekly beginning level dance classes in NYC and came across this. Do any of you use a dance-type temp agency for subbing, or do you work more within the dance community and your personal connections?

Re: DanzEmergencee or other dance temp agencies
Wow, interesting service! I think that would be good for western dance studio owners, fitness oriented studios, or independent jazz/ballet/modern teachers who are desperate. But as an independent business woman for whom my weekly classes are a large part of my income, exposure, and focus, I would never bring someone I don't know in to sub my dance classes.
I rarely need a sub*, and when I do I rely on other local teachers that I know, trust and love, dancers who don't teach regularly but are awesome (and who I know, trust, and love!), or dancers who specialize in an area of belly dance I don't, so my students can have exposure to a different style or perspective.
*Knock on wood! In 7+ years of teaching a minimum of three classes per week I have only needed to get a sub 3 or 4 times, two of those due to walking pneumonia!
