Re: what's your belly dance goal?
My focus keeps shifting over the years, but the one thing that remains a constant goal is to keep exploring and growing in this dance form.. and to make beautiful dances. At the moment my practical goal is to spend more actual time on dance practice and choreos/combinations, and less on faffing around and/or being worried. I'm trying to get to an average of 3 dance-related hours a day, be it teaching, practice, cross-training or performance..

Re: what's your belly dance goal?
I have a flair for the artistic and the dramatic. And I've poured that into 5 costumes (which actually aren't even completely finished yet). But I've found myself wondering this:
"Do I dance well enough to do justice to these beautiful costumes?"
So that's my goal - to bring my dance up to the level of being comfortable in a kick-a** costume!

Re: what's your belly dance goal?
get ready for few competitions.
hope to go to Level II Jamila workshop and pass the test
prepare for Level III Suhaila, and learn few more choreographies from her including the ones with finger cymbals.
Go to Turkey, Egypt and England
Sell few costumes, get few new ones made
get more flexible and toned
teach more workshops and big shows
and keep my full time job ;-)

Re: what's your belly dance goal?
Great topic! The first thing that comes to mind is that I want to continue to explore, learn and progress. I love the learning/growing process.
But, I'm also a workaholic of sorts so I have another set of goals
-to get a steady gig. It doesn't have to be grand. Perhaps the Friday night performer at Blahblah Cafe.
- to do perform in another country.
- and to buy a lovely costume that doesn't need a ton of alterations.

Re: what's your belly dance goal?
Might be weird for me to post here, but I actually have a bellydance goal, sort of...I shoot a lot of dancers and it's fun and I love it...many times the women are pretty good at posing b/c of being used to performing, plus add in the pretty costuming and veils and all that and makes for good pictures...my goal is usually to not look like I only shoot bellydance pictures. (Well on my gallery here I only uploaded that) but even on my site, it's hard to look like I shoot other stuff like weddings, regular portraits, etc. I always have so many bellydance pictures I end up liking and putting up in galleries. My goal is usually to not get overwhelmed with bellydance photos.
I just always fail and that is ok.

Re: what's your belly dance goal?
My goal is simply to be the very best dancer I possibly can be. I tend to get quite competitive but I don't want that aspect to become a goal. I want it to be obvious, when someone watches me perform, that I have put many hours of " sweat equity" into learning the art form. I want it to be blatantly obvious that there is a difference between me and a "2 week" Suzy nippletassels. And dangit, I want people to visit my website ( why that matters so much to me remains a mystery to me!!)

Re: what's your belly dance goal?
sonja i'll visit ur website if i knew what it was :) hehe
a lot of interesting goals u all have posted!
i guess mine at the meantime would be just to work more on choreography (in situations where i don't want to improvise, such as with props or a hula, etc.) and perform as much as possible, preferably my solos or my own choreographed duets w/a fellow troupe member since the gigs we get are troupe related anyway and we perform convention pieces

Re: what's your belly dance goal?
One of my goals is to perform and teach in another country and then I can say I'm an international teacher/performer. But mainly i want to continue to teach/ perform /grow/inspire and be inspired till I retire in 2011.

Re: what's your belly dance goal?
I've come to discover just recently that I had no goal so I set about working to find what it is that I wanted.
Right now I just want to dance and improve. I hope to use every time I solo or dance with my school as a learning opportunity -- a way to look back and see what or how I can improve.
