Thread: My dance studio!

THANK YOU to everybody who gave me fantastic suggestions and pictures for my dance studio (uh, about a year ago!)! It is still a work in progress, but here it is today, and I enjoy using it thoroughly!!

Where did you purchase your mirrors? Expensive?

Thank you, ladies!! I do enjoy it and say a little "thank you" every day. My husband put in a ballet bar for Christmas!

The mirrors were not expensive, around $50-$60 each, if I recall correctly. I purchased them at The Home Depot, and Tim installed them for me easily.

Magidah, I leaned heavily on inspiration from your photos of YOUR studio! You can't see the curtains in the photo, but they are a nod to your gorgeous self down in Portland!

Oh, how nice to have so much space! I just put in a home studio (cuz I'm too lazy to drive to my actual studio) but it's claustrophobic compared to yours.

Isn't it just a dream come true, though, to have your very own space in the house?

Kids have playrooms or their own bedrooms, men have garages and workshops and basements, but so rarely give ourselves our own space.

I'm thinking of hosting a Salon or two here. My idea is to bring someone in to teach a small, personal class, then have a break with hors d'oeuvres and drinks, and then dance for each other - bring back the feeling of women dancing for women, that sort of thing. Astryd Farrah has taught here a few times now, and it has been really fun. She is a fantastic teacher, and I learn so much more in a small group lesson setting. I think (hope!) Sedona will be coming up from Portland to teach in March or April.
