    rate info please!

I'd like to update my rates list again *oh no, realized I just did a small update and forgot to change the date* grrr....
anyway- please either post local rates for your area here on this thread or message them to me, which ever you are more comfortable with.
Regular gigs, party rates (specify length of shows please), lesson and show for a party, weekly classes, troupe rates, including musicians if you work with musicians, holiday rates if they're different, rate ranges in your area if you know them. The whole she-bang. Please spell it out because we all do things differently.
Please note- I am not intimately familiar with all regions and little towns in the US. Include the name of your town, state and if you are considered part of a larger metropolitan market.
    THANKS!!!!
...and if you don't know my page

    Re: rate info please!

Portland Oregon I would say 50-100 dollars set. There is one place that charges way less, 20.00 dollars a set but I would consider that under the norm. IMO this restaurant is more for the six week wonders and I know that professional dancers do not support that venue....

In Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill (aka the Triangle), the rates vary, but not by a lot. Here is my price sheet. There are some other bhuzzers from my area on here, who I hope will pitch in.

Also, for regular classes, students pay betweeen $10 and $15 a class. I teach at a studio and the studio owner pays me $30 an hour (then again, i don't have to do any advertising or recruiting).

Here's the breakdown for Warner Robins/Macon, Georgia (1.5 hours south of Atlanta):

    - Weekly classes - about $45/month
    - "Belly"-gram (10 minutes) - $100+
    - Regular restaurant set - $80 for 1 20 minute set, $50 per set if more than 1 (30 minute change break in between)
    - Standard 20 minute set - $150+
    - Mini-lesson and performance - $175+

Extra added for travel over a certain radius (anywhere between 30-50 miles)

    Re: rate info please!

Cleveland, OH restaurant sets are currently $50-75 for two 20 minute sets
Party rates vary; I've seen anywhere from $100-200 for a 20 min. set.

These are rates I've gotten through my instructor; I'm not sure what the other CLE area girls are charging. We had a rate discussion a while ago and I asked for that info but didn't get it.

i just have to give a big thank you to samira for doing this! i'm working on getting a gig at a local restuarant, in a city that has no restuarant dancing, and its so helpful to have ballpark figures!

We do too! At that price you get to deal with teacher's ego, no real training, all sorts of crazy false myths and the chance to go to physical therapy later to fix injuries caused by said bargain lessons.

Unfortunately, it keeps prices down for the area. At my studio, all 1 hour technique classes are $45/month. My choreography only class is $30, but you have to be taking a technique class and so the price includes the $10 multiple class discount and a bit more off since they do purchase costuming and perform at community events where we don't get paid (no one does).

When I was renting and had less overhead I started charging $35/month, but raised rates to $40 in an effort to keep in line with prices for the more traditional dance styles around here.

When I'm hired to teach somewhere else, prices are between $40-50/hour depending on location. It's made some people balk, but everyone who has hired me has said it was totally worth it and then some.

In the Buffalo and WNY area, can only state what I charge and get for performances. Private gigs $140 for a 15 minute performance.
Classes range from 8-10 per hour here.
