Lauren's idea of trading links is terrific, and since many people seem to be interested in trading links, I thought maybe we could start a list where everybody trades links.

My special-interest web site, Bellydance for Plus-Sized Women , could use some link partners. To find my links page, pick "Resources" from the top menu, and you're there!

If you want to identify the city I'm in, it's Iowa City, Iowa, though since this is a resource site and not all about me, I expect most people won't feel a need to include the city name.

If you're a vendor who includes plus-sized costumes as part of your line, let me know so I can include your business in that category.

I'm thinking of creating a category dedicated to web sites for dancers who are themselves plus-sized. (The category doesn't exist yet.) If you consider yourself to be a plus-sized dancer and want to be included in the newly-created category, tell me so.

Otherwise, if you don't ask to be in one of the above categories, I can put you in the category of "Other Bellydance Web Sites".

Although I am plus-sized, I am not really posting many photos of myself in costume (just some old ones from when I first started dancing) . . . I've mainly used my website to post photos of my trips to egypt and to put links of articles I've written etc.

Just a little suggestion about a thread like this...feel free to beat me down with giant (tahtib?) sticks if I'm outta line. ;-)

It might also be helpful when you the url you want others to link TO for you, to also give navigation or url info about the page/location in your site FROM which you're linking to other dancers. I've taken a gander at this post and at some of the websites, and honestly...for some of you, I either couldn't find or had trouble finding where your "links" are. When deciding about trading links, it's just nice for each party to know where they're going to show up on the other's site. :-)

Valid point. I just edited my earlier message in this thread to add a sentence about that.

It would also be good to include in your message on this thread the name of the city in which you are located - that's not always easy to find on people's web sites. Some folks on this thread have included it, but others have not.

Good points. I've got a links tab that includes many categories. Everyone except Shira was added under the "Friends, Colleagues, and Dancers" category, listed alphabetically by name, and includes city/state.

Oh, my, I have a lot of work to do to catch up with everyone . . . fyi, I have a special links page called Bhuzzers!!! Maybe I need to do some restructuring hmmmmm, ok, too much to think about now . . . I am in the middle of attempting to write some technical docs and I think I am avoiding them.

Ugh I'm afraid this will have to wait until Monday. Headed out of town!
