Yesterday I ran a sale and newsletter and this was what google analytics recorded for activity to the Etsy :: akaisilks :: A'Kai Silks Handmade silk veils, scarves, skirts, soaps site

Of that, 18% of that was referrals from bhuz. So it pays to advertise on bhuz!! (and have newsletters) ..g.:

nope dont use it and not sure what it is but if I infer from your posting it just gives you a lot a statistics?

I don't and I have a script-blocker that does not allow it to run when I visit sites. Nothing against google - I am just very script-careful :)

I agree -- that seems really high. Are you also using Ad Words? If you are, it might be time to cull some words that are causing lots of bounces because you are paying for the clicks even if they don't stay on the site. If not, then maybe you are showing up in searches where it's not appropriate and you might have a tag somewhere that could be better updated.

I put ads up in November on all the online belly dance zines and forums I could find, but Bhuz is the only one that consistently refers with any volume. Yay Bhuz!

could it be because the first page of akaisilks.com is a page that automatically changes to a different one after a few seconds? if you log on to the site you'll see my model on a black background then it switches over to the about hawaii etc page.

oh oh disregard that , this analytic search was for the etsy store. so this report shows what happened in the etsy store that day..i had a LOT of visitors coming from a discussion we were having about newsletters. i doubt many of them were dancers :) we had a discussion on newsletters and my link to the store was there so i bet that bounce rate was a lot of visitors peeking at the store and then returning to the discussion. they ended up 'marking' the store as a favorite and then left.

the 'bellydance' identity of the store is still more prevalent than the other items i sell. and in the discussion i'd even mentioned most of my customers were dancers :)

but hey i'll take any advice
